This course is designed for importers, exporters, manufacturers, and any industry professionals dealing with the import and/or export, customs brokers, clearing agents, consultants and legal advisers.

Pre-requisites to profit fully from this training programme:

The blended learning method combines e-learning modules followed by classroom training for optimal learning results. 

Over 40 e-learning modules are available for you to strengthen your knowledge of specific areas of the Harmonized System.

The two-day classroom session will focus on presentations, interactive discussions and practical case studies. These expert-led sessions will equip you with the skills needed in today’s demanding business environment.

Our trainer, Izaak WIND, is accredited by the World Customs Organization as a trainer for Harmonized System (HS) matters as from 1 January 2008.  He worked for 10 years at the WCO, being his last function Deputy Director, Tariff and Trade Affairs.

He also represented the Netherlands in national and international forums with respect to the development of the HS Convention.  

WCO speakers and experts from the private sector will complement the classroom training with presentations and discussions along the 2 day course.

During this training, you will:

  • Explore the areas of the General Interpretative Rules with respect to the classification of composite goods and sets, and enhance your classification skills. 
  • Fully understand the basic rules for classifying composite goods and sets in the Harmonized System.  Understand the HS methodology and get an inside view on the HS 2012 amendments.

Day One:  Focus on 2012 amendments and the procedure for amending the Harmonized System.

Day two:  Sharpen your knowledge of the General Interpretative Rules,  and the relation with other international agreements.

Note:  The fee to this course includes the “Amendments to the HS Nomenclature 2012”, with a value of 35€, and “Harmonized System Nomenclature 2012”, with a value of 60€.
